Our 5 Favourite iPhone 7 Features

Apple has finally unveiled its long-awaited iPhone 7 at its signature yearly release. Almost all of the rumours and leaks ahead of the launch have turned out to be true but here are Our 5 Favourite iPhone 7 Features.

1. iPhone Camera and Raw image support

The new iPhone camera has an all new camera system. Our 5 Favourite iPhone 7 FeaturesEnhanced dual-lens camera on the 5.5-inch with 12mp for sharper images and increased quality when zooming, whilst the iPhone 7 Plus has two 12MP cameras, one of which is a wide angle lens and the other a telephoto lens that can zoom 2X in high quality without using any software. The camera lets in 50% more light, meaning better quality photos in low light. The front camera has an additional 2mp, meaning the 7mp is better for taking selfies and improved experience using FaceTime. The iPhone 7 will also support Raw image.

What is a Raw image?

A raw file is the image as seen by the camera’s sensor. Think of it like unprocessed film. Rather than letting the camera process the image for you, turning it into a JPEG image, shooting in raw allows you to process the image to your liking.

Add Adobe Lightroom for your iPhone and you’ve got yourself your very own mobile photo lab!

2. AirPods

Wireless AirPods are a real thing. Using the Apple W1 chip, designed to stay connected with high performance, with infra-red sensors that can tell when they’re in your ear, and you can tap them to access Siri too.

They pick up your voice and knows when this is happening through vibration recognition – pretty clever! There’s also a wireless charging case that can refuel them with 5 hours of charge.

While these are a great addition they will, sadly, cost you and extra $159 dollars! Don’t worry we’ve already covered Our Top 5 Budget Bluetooth Headphones.

3. Battery Life

More battery life, oh the joy! The longest battery life ever in an iPhone is coming, which you’d expect. For the iPhone 7 this lasts two hours than an iPhone 6 based on day-to-day standard usage, and an hour longer than the iPhone 6S.

4. Water/Dustproof

gadget-cover-blog-our-5-favourite-new-iphone-7-features-waterproofWith its entire enclosure re-engineered, iPhone 7 is the very first water‑resistant iPhone. So now you’re protected like never before against spills, splashes, and even dust.

Think of this as a beta test of sorts, because now Apple is proudly calling the iPhone 7 splash, dust, and water resistant, with a rating of IP67. IP67 is actually two numbers, one that refers to the dust resistance rating and one that refers to water resistance.

This means it should withstand powerful streams of water right on it, as well as dunks in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes.

5. Stereo Speakers

Stereo speakers on the iPhone! Top and bottom! This is what we’re talking about – and twice the volume of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S.

The new iPhones can be pre-ordered from September 9, and to buy from September 16 in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB sizes. The new models start at $649, and the iPhone 7 Plus starts at $749. Jet Black will only be available on 128GB and 256GB sizes.

If you’re not sure where to get them from then we suggest you update your Apple maps and use Siri to direct you (although expect a long wait when you get there).
