What insurance should I get for my Google Pixel 7?
We all depend on our phones for so much nowadays. So imagine how you'd feel if your new Google Pixel 7 was out of action. If you’ve got the right mobile phone insurance then you’ll be in a much better position to bounce right back.
However, when it comes to finding the right insurance policy for your Google Pixel 7 things aren’t always as straightforward as they should be. There are so many providers offering so many different levels of cover that it can soon get confusing.
How much does Google Pixel 7 insurance cost?
Insurance for a Google Pixel phone can cost from under £5 per month depending on the model and level of cover you choose. Indeed, at Gadget Cover some phones can be insured from as little as £1.49 per month!
You’ll also need to take into account any additional extras such as cover to protect against loss and the amount of excess you’re happy to pay if you do claim. Be aware that if you arrange insurance though a network provider then you might not get the best price.
What does a Google Pixel 7 insurance policy cover?
- Accidental damage cover – Modern devices may be durable, but that doesn’t make them indestructible. Unlike some insurers, Gadget Cover can even take care of minor screen cracks. And if the item cannot be repaired, we will replace it.
- Liquid damage cover – Accidentally dropped your phone in the loo? Water damage is one of the most common accidents insurers come across and is an essential part of any cover.
- Theft cover – Flashy new phone has been snatched by a criminal? Don’t panic. With our cover, we'll get you back online in no time.
- Mechanical breakdown insurance cover – Once your phone is out of warranty, if it breaks down, it'll be down to you to fix it. But not if you have phone insurance.
- E-wallet cover – Cybercrime is just one of the latest risks mobile users need to watch out for. Check you have adequate digital E-wallet cover in your mobile phone insurance policy to refund any unauthorised transactions. Both our Gold and Silver cover provide this facility up to a maximum of £500.
- Unauthorised calls/data usage cover – As well as the theft of the mobile phone itself, a criminal could rack up thousands of pounds worth of unauthorised calls and data usage on your Google Pixel 7. An insurance policy that covers you for this could prove very useful.
- Accidental loss cover – If you lose your trusty Google Pixel 7, this useful level of extra policy cover will get you a replacement.
- Accessories cover – Customers who choose Gold cover also get protection for all those wonderful accessories we love to add to our mobile phones. If they’re lost, damaged or stolen at the same time as your device, they’ll be covered up to a value of £150.
- Worldwide travel cover – Any backpacker or business traveller would be pleased to pack a Google Pixel 7 in their bag. Policies arranged through Gadget Cover can be extended to include use of your mobile phone anywhere in the world, up to 180 days in any one year.
- Family cover – Need to keep the kids busy in the car? You might hand them your Google Pixel 7. But if an accident should happen then an insurance policy with family cover could save you from a family fallout.
What are the standard Google Pixel 7 insurance exclusions?
Even if you go with the best insurance currently on offer to protect your Google phone, that doesn’t mean you’ll be covered for every conceivable eventuality.
When looking to insure your smartphone, it’s important to be aware of any common exclusions to the cover, too.
These exclusions could be:
- Proof of phone usage. You’ll need to have used the phone since the insurance policy cover was purchased.
- Damage caused due to carelessness.
- Theft from a vehicle or property when there’s no visible sign of forced entry.
- Theft or loss while your phone was left unattended.
- Lack of proof of phone purchase.
- Water damage.
- Cosmetic damage that doesn’t prevent you from using the phone.
- Delayed reporting of the loss or theft to the police and the insurance provider.
Be aware, the insurance policy you choose may have other exclusions. It's up to you to make sure you understand what's covered and what's not.

A phone bought from Google or one of its authorised resellers in the UK comes with a 2-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. But this only covers you for mechanical breakdown and won’t cover any consumable parts such as batteries and protective coatings or any cosmetic damages, unless the problem is down to defective materials or workmanship.
It also won’t cover you for a whole range of other damage such as that caused by normal wear and tear, accidents and liquid damage.
While a warranty is great for any early problems arising from manufacturers defects, for everything else you really need specialist insurance cover.
Our Bronze cover offers protection against accidental damage and liquid damage, while our next level Silver also offers cover against theft, mechanical breakdown, e-wallet protection and unauthorised calls and data usage. In addition to all this, our Gold cover also provides protection against accidental loss and accessories cover.
While our most comprehensive mobile phone insurance policies will cost slightly more, arranging the best level of protection for your device is well worth it. There’s really no better way to keep your Google Pixel 7 safe from harm.
Here at Gadget Cover, we love answering questions about insurance, it’s our specialist subject after all! Ask these questions to make sure you're getting the right cover for your needs.
- Will the policy cover my Google Pixel 7? Does it matter if I purchased it from an auction site?
- When does the policy start?
- How much are the insurance premiums and can I pay annually or monthly?
- What exactly does the insurance policy cover? For example, does it cover a cracked screen and water damage?
- Will it protect my phone accessories if they are lost, damaged or stolen at the same time as my phone?
- Is there a limit on the number of insurance claims I can make in a year?
- Will the policy cover use by my family members and if I take the smartphone out of the country?
- What is the claims process? Can I get a replacement device while my phone is being repaired?
- How much excess do I have to pay? You would usually expect to pay around £100 as an excess.
- What are the exclusions on the policy? Are there any limitations I need to be aware of?
With gadget cover your phone will be covered from the moment you finalise the purchase of insurance. You won’t have to wait for the insurance policy to be processed and applied within a specific number of days from your purchase. Instead, you can enjoy coverage right from the moment of purchase.
To make a claim, you need to do the following:
If your claim is for damage, we will ask you to send the gadget to our nominated repair centre where we can inspect and repair it. We aim to repair or replace items within 5 to 7 working days.
If your claim if for the theft or loss of your gadget you must report the theft or loss to the police and your service provider no later than 48 hours after you notice that your gadget is missing.
Next, you need to contact us. Make sure to do that as quickly as possible - within 48 hours from discovering loss or theft of your gadget.
You can call our dedicated Claim Advisors on 0203 794 9294. You can also send us an email to gadgetcoverclaims@davies-group.com. If you take longer than 48 hours to contact us, you risk your claim being delayed or rejected.
We aim to process claims within 48 hours, once we receive all the required documentation - which includes proof of ownership. If we approve the claim, you will need to pay the policy excess to let us proceed with the claim. Make sure that you provide us with all the required documentation and pay the excess as quickly as possible - any delay may make the process longer.
For many smartphone users, the most valuable content on their phone, that no insurance company is able to replace, is their contacts, photos, files, and other pieces of personal information.
There are many things you can do right now to make sure that data stored on your phone is protected against loss. Consider the available cloud storage options for creating backups of your data. Storing them in the cloud offers a significant advantage - they will be available to you from any device connected to the internet.
Once you settle on an adequate storage solution, schedule regular backups of your data to make sure that all your files and information are located in your storage.
All in all, the best advice to keep your phone is safe, is to look after it and to protect it against the hassle and cost that comes with loss, theft, or damage.
