If you want instant cover for your Samsung Galaxy phone, then you’ve come to the right place. Read on to find out all there is to know about these great mobile phones and the protection that only Gadget Cover Flip insurance can bring.

All about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is the South Korean tech giant’s latest all-singing, all-dancing, premier flippable that savvy consumers up and down the country are having a lot of fun with. Folding up like an old-school clamshell foldable, these so-called flippables offer flagship phone functionality but in a more pocketable form than regular smartphones.

The Flip 4 is the current model and has been reaching the top of many must-buy lists as the best clamshell-style foldable phone to date. With a slimmer design, a bigger battery, improved durability, and a faster processor, it offers some distinct improvements on the previous Galaxy Z Flip 3 model (although that’s also a well-regarded phone).

For an in-depth rundown of the Flip 4’s tech specs and features, read Gadget Cover’s ultimate guide to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. And if you’re wondering when the Z Flip 5 is likely to arrive, keep an eye on our blog for the latest news!

What does Samsung Flip insurance cover?

Cover for your Samsung Flip phone provided by Gadget Cover offers a long list of benefits. Let's take a closer look at some of the stand-out features we offer.

Accidental damage cover

With a double-lens camera on the rear, an impressive 6.7-inch flippable, ultra-thin glass display and that stunning hinged design, no matter how durable Samsung devices are they’re not immune from accidental damage. Insure with Gadget Cover and we’ll even take care of a cracked screen that’s only suffered cosmetic damage.

If your phone can't be fixed, we'll provide a replacement device. Repair or replace, we aim to provide excellent service from the team at Gadget .

Liquid damage cover

When you’re busy showing off your new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, you won’t want a pool-side accident to spoil your fun. Accidentally dropping your phone in the pool or even just spilling your morning coffee all over it are just some of the most common liquid damage insurers come across.

Be aware, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip offers excellent water resistance, it isn’t as dust proof as some other devices. When it comes to insurance, liquid damage cover is essential as it's unlikely to be included in the manufacturer's warranty.

Contact Gadget Cover to find out about our hassle-free claims process. From liquid damage and loss cover to theft and accidental damage cover, you can expect to be well protected with us.

Theft cover

Any Samsung Galaxy phone is a desirable object, but with stunning good looks and cutting-edge tech specs, the Z Flip is even more so. And that makes it a potential target for theft. With theft cover, if your device is stolen, we'll get you a replacement phone in no *.

Mechanical breakdown cover

Once your Samsung Z Flip phone is out of warranty, if its Snapdragon 855+ chipset begins to malfunction or it suffers a mechanical breakdown, it'll be your responsibility to repair or replace it. Whether you have to find a replacement device or hope to repair it, the costs can soon rise if you don’t have the right insurance cover in place.

E-wallet cover

Avoiding the latest hacks and scams is something all smartphone owners have had to get used to in recent years. But no matter how careful you are, it’s still worthwhile having digital e-wallet cover as part of your phone insurance policy to refund any fraudulent transactions.

Gadget Cover’s Gold and Silver cover both provide this feature up to a maximum of £500. As you can see, just a little increase in the premium can provide a whole lot more protection.

Cover for unauthorised calls and data charges

Whether you’re the victim of theft or you accidentally lose your phone, you’ll have a lot to worry about if you don’t have the right insurance cover. Say someone uses your phone without your permission – you could be left with a substantial bill for unauthorised calls and data usage. Could you afford that?

Loss cover

Our busy lives mean that sometimes we misplace even the most precious items. If you accidentally lose your Samsung Z Flip, we can help reunite you with another device.

Cover for accessories

We all love adding a couple of extra accessories to our shopping basket when we pre-order a great phone like the Z Flip. But whether you just want a new silicon cover with strap or a flashy pair of Galaxy Buds2 Pro in Bora Purple, you’ll want to protect your accessories from theft, damage or loss, too.

Opting for Gold cover with us provides additional protection for the repair or replacement of those super-useful accessories. If they’re lost, damaged or stolen at the same time as your device, they’ll be covered up to a value of £150.

Worldwide cover

With a Z Flip in your bag, you’re bound to have a lot of fun wherever your journey takes you. But whether you dream of far-flung tourist destinations or simply the next overseas target for your business, you’ll want worldwide cover to keep your phone protected.

Gadget Cover can extend policies to cover use of your Z Flip anywhere in the world, up to 180 days in any one year. Love to travel? Then consider adding unlimited worldwide cover to your policy.

Cover for your immediate family

Does your immediate family use your phone? Perhaps your little ones play games on it in the car? If so, you'll want to protect it from drops or damage with Family cover.

How much does Flip insurance cost with Gadget Cover?

Here at Gadget Cover, we can provide your Z Flip with three great plans to choose from:

Gold, Silver or Bronze.

We’re proud of the fact that each of these will provide great value, all-round protection for your precious smartphone and all at great prices.

The price you pay will depend on the model you have, the level of cover you choose and any other additional extras. By way of an example, let’s look at what you could pay if you own a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 128GB.

Our Bronze level of essential cover offers excellent protection against both accidental damage and liquid damage.

Silver level policies also offer cover against theft, mechanical breakdown, unauthorised calls and data usage, and e-wallet protection, too.

For ultimate protection, our Gold level policies also include additional protection against accidental loss as well as accessories cover.

Premiums can change so it’s always worth checking the most up-to-date price with Gadget Cover’s online quote tool. As well as the device make and model you’ll also need details such as the age of your device, when it was purchased, and the IMEI code.

Be warned, if you choose to arrange insurance through your network provider you probably won’t be getting the best value policy on offer in the UK. Always check with Gadget Cover before buying any new phone insurance policy.

Does the Samsung Flip break easily? How many years will the Samsung Flip last?

When you consider that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 sells for just under £1,000, you'll want to know exactly how long it might last. Well, Samsung says that with an IPX8 water resistance rating, scratch-defying Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back cover and a hinge encased in lightweight Armour Aluminium, the Z Flip 4 is the strongest Galaxy foldable ever.

And what about those remarkable folding screens? Is durability going to be a problem? Samsung claims the screen has been certified to fold and unfold up to 200,000 times. That translates to around 100 sessions of folding every day for around 5 years - more than enough for even the most serious smartphone super fan.

Samsung has clearly worked hard on the durability of these incredible folding screens. So now it's your job to protect them! Check whether your current phone insurance covers damage for your foldable screen. If not, talk to Gadget Cover today!

Does the Samsung mobile phone warranty cover accidental damage?

Every Samsung Z Flip phone bought in the UK will come with a one-year Samsung warranty. Samsung says this provides cover for device breakdown, a one-year battery warranty, and six-months' cover for any accessories included with the Z Flip.

Unlike Galaxy Z Flip insurance from Gadget Cover, it won’t protect you from other risks such as accidental damage and liquid damage. A warranty is a nice added extra from the manufacturer to deal with any early teething problems, but for everything else you’ll need specialist insurance cover.

Is the Samsung Flip worth protecting with mobile phone insurance?

The answer to this question depends on your attitude to risk and your financial situation.

Try asking yourself the following questions:

  • If my Z Flip was lost, damaged or stolen, could I afford to repair or replace it immediately?
  • Would I be happy using a cheaper or older model while my Z Flip is out of action?
  • Do I own the Z Flip outright or have I bought it on a contract?
  • Do other family members use my phone?
  • Have I lost or damaged phones in the past?

Mobile phones have become an integral part of our lifestyles. Many of us would never leave home without a phone in our pocket. And most of the time, it’s not simple phones but sophisticated and expensive smartphones that we carry with us everywhere.

Carrying a phone like that means that you’re vulnerable to dangers ranging from theft to loss and damage. High-quality smartphones are usually expensive and to pay for one, you may have agreed to sign a contract - which you’ll need to keep on paying even if you lose or damage your phone.

However, you can protect yourself against such risks by covering your phone with specialist mobile phone insurance.

Benefits can vary from insurer to insurer - that’s why it’s smart to shop around and look through various offers before settling on an insurance company.

Before purchasing a mobile phone insurance contract, make sure to read the Terms & Conditions carefully. That’s how you’ll be able to tell which clauses and exclusions apply to the type of insurance you’ve chosen.

A critical part of your mobile phone insurance is the type of theft it covers. For instance, theft without force or unattended theft may not be covered. If someone steals your phone from your pocket or takes it from a table in a cafe when you’re distracted, you’ll be left uninsured. Moreover, some insurers may refuse to pay out in specific cases - for example, if you forget your phone and leave it by accident on a train or taxi. If you’re deemed to have been careless by the provider, you might not be covered by the insurance. Any sort of water damage might fall under this exclusion too.

Pay attention to the terms stated in your contract. Some insurers require you to report the phone as lost to the police and the insurer within a specific time limit such as 24 hours or less.

The exclusions to this mobile phone insurance include:

  • Leaving the phone unattended
  • Theft from a vehicle or premises where there is no visible sign of forced entry
  • Lack of proof of purchase or receipt
  • Any claim where the phone has not been used since the insurance has been taken out

Make sure that the policy you choose has all the cover you need. Check if it provides instant cover, whether there’s a limit on the number of claims per year, and how much the excess is.

When searching for phone cover, consider gadget insurance. Many providers offer that type of insurance that may cover mobile phones - just make sure to specify your smartphone when describing the gadget in question. You can insure more than one device with the same policy - for example, your laptop, camera, and tablet.

Some types of home insurance include mobile phone coverage as well. While these can be simple and cost-effective, they come with downsides such as lengthy claim processing that could leave you without a mobile phone for a more extended period of time.

With gadget cover your phone will be covered from the moment you finalise the purchase of insurance. You won’t have to wait for the insurance policy to be processed and applied within a specific number of days from your purchase. Instead, you can enjoy coverage right from the moment of purchase.

To make a claim, you need to do the following:

If your claim is for damage, we will ask you to send the gadget to our nominated repair centre where we can inspect and repair it. We aim to repair or replace items within 5 to 7 working days.

If your claim if for the theft or loss of your gadget you must report the theft or loss to the police and your service provider no later than 48 hours after you notice that your gadget is missing.

Next, you need to contact us. Make sure to do that as quickly as possible - within 48 hours from discovering loss or theft of your gadget.

You can call our dedicated Claim Advisors on 0203 794 9294. You can also send us an email to If you take longer than 48 hours to contact us, you risk your claim being delayed or rejected.

We aim to process claims within 48 hours, once we receive all the required documentation - which includes proof of ownership. If we approve the claim, you will need to pay the policy excess to let us proceed with the claim. Make sure that you provide us with all the required documentation and pay the excess as quickly as possible - any delay may make the process longer.

For many smartphone users, the most valuable content on their phone, that no insurance company is able to replace, is their contacts, photos, files, and other pieces of personal information.

There are many things you can do right now to make sure that data stored on your phone is protected against loss. Consider the available cloud storage options for creating backups of your data. Storing them in the cloud offers a significant advantage - they will be available to you from any device connected to the internet.

Once you settle on an adequate storage solution, schedule regular backups of your data to make sure that all your files and information are located in your storage.

All in all, the best advice to keep your phone is safe, is to look after it and to protect it against the hassle and cost that comes with loss, theft, or damage.
